What's In My Makeup Bag

The past few weeks have been such a busy time for me. I have been out of town twice [Charleston & Charlotte], I got engaged and have been preparing for the launch of my new site [which should be very soon, with more info on all these exciting details]! Let's just say, busy is an understatement, for me at least because I usually don't travel that often.

The other day, amidst the pile of laundry, cleaning and tidying that needed to be done, I was about to start unpacking my travel makeup bag [here] when I realized that this would be the perfect time to share some of my current and favorite products that I am using on a daily basis! I adore my Louis Vuitton Toiletry 26 bag, #duhh, because it is one of the most fashionable and useful cosmetic bags I own. Plus, it fits tons, and tons, of stuff!

I am a routine person, in some ways, so basically when I find products I like- I use them over, and over, everyday! So here is the current edit:

Face
I didn't realize how much I love, and rely on Nars products, until I decided to share my favorites. I seriously have fallen head over heels with the quality and price of Nars products. The base of my face is basically Nars. I have just repurchased this foundation because I love how long lasting it is. And guess what... it doesn't break me out!! The tinted moisturizer is just as great, only with light coverage, perfect for hot beach days. Add a little of their creamy concealer on blemishes and my favorite, YSL Touche Eclat, under the eyes for a perfect flawless face!

As for blush and bronzer, I have fallen in love with two samples. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer is the perfect bronze shade and is even good for contouring. I am also really loving this rosey, rose bloom blush from Laura Mercier. To set everything I am faithful to the Laura Mercer Translucent Powder

Eyes
For the eyes, I start with the Nars smudge proof eye shadow base and use my favorite combination of colors from the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette.  I have been loving this YSL mascara, and have been using the Loreal Lineur Intense for years! I am not exactly in love with the Chantecaille waterproof eyebrow pencil, but it isn't terrible [haha].

Brow Pencil [this one is my favorite]

Lips

YSL and Tom Ford are definitely my two favorite lip product brands, but as far as what has been in my makeup bag, YSL takes the win. I have recently fallen in love with their glossy stains, especially this color. I have also finally found out what all of the talk about Lingerie Pink is, it's stunning!

Brushes + Tools

I use a combination of brushes from different brands, but MAC and Chanel are my everyday brushes.

I hope that you enjoy getting a look into my makeup bag and what products I am currently using! I love reading about these and finding out what products other people are loving! I would love to know what your favorite products are right now, let me know in a comment below!

3 Perfect Summer Lip Products

Louis Vuitton Toiletry Bag here.
I may have possibly found the 3 lip products I could live forever with! Give it, I just purchased these, [all at the same time, while in Charleston], however I am insanely in love with each one! I'm not sure if this is a "haul" post or a rave/I'm obsessed/love of my life post!

I have always been a fan of the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks, and basically love anything from Tom Ford. However, I have to say that each one of these colors are extremely luxurious and should be a staple for everyone! I was very excited to try the YSL Glossy Stain and I ma happy to say it did not disappoint! The color of this one is BEAUTIFUL and fun for a bright lip that is not deadly, if that makes sense?

I can't wait to share more pictures of these products, on my lips, very soon in up coming posts! So for today I just wanted to share them and give some brief thoughts on why I love them so much!

This shade is the ultimate nude! It does not wash me out and still provides a hint of color and life to the lips! I feel like nudes can sometimes be too orangey or make you look like a vampire [haha] but this one does neither! I love the vanilla scent, I think this is a Tom Ford signature, it just makes the lip product that more luxurious!
This is the perfect summer time Malibu Barbie shade! I adore this color and really don't have many other products [probably maybe one, that is half melted] like this! It reminds me quite a bit of Katey Mcfarlan from Chronicle of Frivolity! This must be one of her staples! Of course, it has the delicious and fruity signature YSL scent, which makes it that much more perfect for summer!
Last, but certainly not least, is the YSL Glossy stain. This product is different for me than anything else I have used. I never really jumped on the lip stain bandwagon, but I love this product! I smells divine and leaves my lips a beautiful, and fun, bright tropical pink. The stain is long lasting, thus far, and I love the black and gold packaging!

Bracelets are here and here.

Sorry for the poor light! I will try to get some better swatches soon. The colors are shown in the order they are listed in above.

I am such a lip product junky, but I have to say that these one's easily moved to the top of my list!

What are your favorite lip products, colors, or brands?

Summer Beauty Wish List

I can't believe it is already Wednesday! This week is going by so fast and I have been working really hard, or maybe I'm just really stressed, to prepare for my new site! If you follow me on social media, [Instagram, Twitter, Facebook], you know that I have changed my social media names in preparation of my new site, Timeless Taste! I am so excited and have been working on my business cards, and other things, all while planning for my trip to Charleston in just two short days! [If you have any Charleston recommendations I would love to know them!!] I am so excited but I am not looking for ward to the drive, or leaving my little Worm!

On a lighter note, today I am going to be sharing some of my "Summer Beauty Wish List" items! I easily obsess over beauty products and brands, however this summer I have been obsessing over giving my skin a break and lightening up my look a bit! I think that rosy pink lips and cheeks in combination with fresh skin and beautiful lashes, make for such an elegant summer look! Whether you are heading to the beach, or going out for date night, this look is guaranteed to make a statement!

With that in mind, I have put together some items that I am dying to get my hands on lately! Starting with the skin, Bobbi Brown's beach collection is known to be perfect for summer and this oil looks divine! After reading Chronicles of Frivolity, Katey McFarland, and my latest sample from Neiman's, has turned me on to Tata Harper products! She swears by this mask and I am itching to get my hands on it! As for lips, Tom Ford is a must and I have been wanting to try the new YSL Tint-In-Oil, because YSL makes some of my top most favorite lip products! Lastly, we can't for get beautiful beach hair, and I have heard that Oribe is a must have, along with this for dewy cheeks and a staple shimmery eye look!

5 Summer Beauty Tips

Since it is now officially summer, and currently blaming hot in VA, I feel the need to call attention to summer beauty swaps! We all love our flip flops, swimsuits, sunglass and floppy/baseball hats, but we can't forget about summer beauty products. No matter the time of the year, I am always game to talk beauty [but you probably know that by now, right?! lol], but each season has it's trends and
"must have" products.

3 rules of summer beauty: 1. Moisturize [moisturize, moisturize], 2. Use sun protection, and 3. Use as little product as possible.

I'm sure that you are just as obsessed with hot pink lipstick as I am [however I feel like it never looks that good on me] so I went ahead and left that off of the list, however I figured that was a given.

5 Summer Beauty Tips:

Lighten it up
The most important tip that I can give you for summer beauty is to "lighten it up." No matter what it  is, whether it is eyeliner, perfume, hair product, foundation or anything else, just lighten it up! Use a lighter scented fragrance, such as something that is more floral and clean feeling. I also like to go lighter on the eyeliner. I am not really into heavy eyeliner, but I especially don't like it in the summer! Try to use as little products as possible, that way it hopefully won't slide off of your face like a pancake [sometimes my sunglasses slide off of my face if my makeup is too heavy] and we never want that! So no matter the product, just try to keep the color, feel and scent light!

Use a Tinted Moisturizer or BB Cream instead of Foundation
I just purchased by first Tinted Moisturizer a few weeks ago [this one] and I have to say that I am already in love! At first, I wasn't sure since I am used to much more coverage, but now I am completely loving it! Wearing sunscreen is so important all times of the year, but especially during the summer. Some foundations don't have sunscreen, but most tinted moisturizers do. So even if you need more coverage, just add a little bit of foundation over top of your tinter moisturizer.

Waterproof Products are Friend's
During the warmer months, when we tend to sweat profusely much more and going swimming more often, waterproof beauty products come in handy! Whether it is eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, or brow products, waterproof is always a good idea! Even if you aren't planning on going to the pool or beach, sweating from the heat can cause makeup to run and nobody wants mascara in there eyes #ouchie. I love these waterproof eyeshadows from MUFE.

Choose Cream Products of Powder
The warm weather can often cause powder products to look cakey or distorted on the face. So opting for cream products not only makes for a better application, and lasting quality, but also for a more natural look. I think that in the summer, natural beauty is key.

Care for your Hair

The sun, although very beautiful, can be extremely damaging to many things including our hair and skin. Some companies have produced sunscreen for your hair, I have yet to try one, that are supposed to protect your hair from the sun! However, if you aren't into that you can always wear a hat to not only protect your hair from the damaging sun rays, but to protect your hair color as eel, if you have color treated hair. Also, it would be a good idea to think about adding a hydrating mask into your hair care routine [if you don't already] in order to ensure you replenish your hair's moisture and help make it more healthy!

I hope that you find these tips helpful and try them out! I will be trying to add in some quick (5) tip posts into my blog, please let me know if you like them! If you have any requests, for tips, just let me know :) I will link some of my favorite summer beauty products below, so be sure to check those out!

Friday Five: Sales, Books, Beauty, Weddings + More!

This week has literally gone by so slow [lol].

What's up with that? I feel like week's that begin with a Holiday are supposed to go buy quickly and painlessly, but I must say… this one has not! But, Friday is FINALLY here so a Friday Five is in order.

I have spent some time this week prepping for my blog rebranding, but some things have to wait until the new site is finished. I have also been doing some research on a new camera, that I need, but in reality don't want to spend the money on. I know right, get over myself. But seriously, cameras are expensive and beings that I don't know how to work a DSLR, I'm literally afraid to buy one!

I am attending my first wedding of the season this weekend, and I have to say, I am really excited! Jay and I have never been to a wedding together before, so I can't wait to experience it with him. Weddings are all "gushy" and "love-ee" and  not exactly fun to go to by yourself if you are in a relationship! So I can't wait! What are your plans for the weekend?

1. Tory Burch is having a great sale! I want this WOC and these wedges. I have decided which to splurge on, which do you like better?

2. I love The Beauty Look Book this post on some Tom Ford Beauty relaunches! I want the Nude Dip Eyeshadow Quad and the Sugar Dune Nail Lacquer, #stunning

3. Loving this little shadow box I picked up at a consignment store this week to house all of my sparkles! [similar here]

Images via Amazon

4. Obsessed with this book already! Every girl shown own it, at least every fabulous girl! I also now need to get this one.

5. Did you catch my sneaky "P.S." announcement in my Instagram post this week! That's right, the house plans are ready!! #insertpartydancehere

Summer Starter Roundup

Happy Friday!

This week has felt so long and for once that is a good thing! The first half of the week I was busy writing my last paper for the semester (I'm finally done, yay!) And the second half of the week I spent watching Grey's Anatomy. I am still addicted to Grey's Anatomy and I will be spending the rest of the summer watching it!

Today I wanted to share with you a few things that I have been eyeing to kick off summer! In Wednesday's post, here, I chatted about those Ray Ban Aviators. I am obsessed! I am also loving one pieces this year! I am never really comfortable in a two piece and there are so many fab one pieces that are hard to resist! Mara Hoffman and Trina Turk are my favorite designers right now!

I have really been trying not to buy makeup as often, but summertime calls for great lip glosses! I am also looking for a few good summer reads! Do you have any recommendations?

What is on your summer starter list?

Holiday Gift Guide: Gifts for Her Under $100

Chanel  // Dior  // GiGi New York

I am already completely engulfed in the holiday season and can barely think about the fact that I have a research paper next week. I am in Frank Sinatra holiday music la-la-land  (AKA my vision of a snowy N.Y.C evening)! It is absolutely wonderful... meanwhile- in reality my homework is NOT doing itself (trust me I have give it the opportunity.) Therefore I am going to keep this short, sweet and to the point.

I decided to to start my holiday gift guides early then year, in hopes of inspiring my self to shop earlier and not wait until the single last minute to shop! This gift guide is of small (only in size not in price or importance) items that are perfect for friends or as stocking stuffers! Who doesn't love hot pink, stationary and papering beauty gifts? I know I sure do!

I hope you will find this gift guide helpful while venturing on your holiday shopping. Christmas truly is my most favorite time of year (aside from other holidays, summer and of course spring)! If you have any recommendations of popular holiday gifts this year be sure to let me know in a comment or email: [themissmorganlife01@gmail.com]

Happy Friday!

Weekend Links & Current Obsessions

Lily and Laura
Tom Ford Bruised Plum

Valentino Rock Stud Pumps

Long time, no chat!

I have been swamped with school work, thanks to the fall semester of college real world. I have been missing blogging SO much and am so sad that I am having a hard time finding to to blog. I decided to sit down( or stand up while working) and catch up with my blog!

Fall beauty and fashion trends are in full swing and I am loving them even more this year than usual. I am an all around neutral girl. I wear neutral's all year long, (thank you Zach for pointing that out to me!) I just love brown, black, white nude, navy green and anything else that is more neutral. I am completely a creature of habit especially with my hair, nails, makeup and fashion! I have been giving a dark and vampy lip color a go this fall and have been really liking it with my brown hair. Dark nails and gold eyeshadow are currently (and always) a must.

I am so excited for Christmas but I really need to do some shopping! So basically my mind is currently strung out between school, what I'm going to be for halloween, all of the gorgeous fall fashion and what to buy people for christmas, NBD.

Some of favorite things this week:
I love my beauty blender and this post from The Beauty Look Book is on point!
Dorothy from Prep In Your Step is the best to go to for anything organization.
50 ideas for blogposts fro the College Prep.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I would love to know your favorite links for this week, just leave them in the comments below! I am hoping to blog a little more often so if you have any requests, please feel free to leave them in a comment or email them to themissmorganlife01@gmail.com.

Cosmetic Bags

I am wanting to buy a new and larger makeup bag than the one I currently own and I am having quite a difficult time deciding which one to buy. I need something that is big enough to hold what I need it to hold but not something so big that it won't fit in my purse! Here are my favorites:

Obviously my first choice is the Louis Vuitton monogram bag, however I cannot tell if the inside will get really dirty and look nasty after a while? I am in search of a review of the bag and would love to know your opinion on the if you have one, (#help!) I am fulling ok with paying the price but I am just unsure whether or not it would be a good investment.

The second bag of choice would be the Prada one. I have heard so many wonderful reviews of this and think it would just be a good buy overall. The Gucci is obviously stunning but I feel like it is just too fab to put my makeup in. Last, is the Tory Burch bag. I am so obsessed with the kerrington print and really want the phone case! I think this bag would be a good buy because it is adorable, nice quality and a good price.

I would really like to know anyones thoughts on the Louis Vuitton cosmetic bag because I really want it!! I just don't want to spend the money on it and be disappointed with the product! Please let me know your thoughts in a comment or email (themissmorganlife01@gmail.com) or share this with someone who can help!!

August Favorites: Beauty, Fashion & #GIRLBOSS!

SHOP THE BOARD

With school just starting, my life has become a little more hectic. Planing, reading, studying have been required and youtube and blogging are not as required, so school has to come first. With that being said, I am going to get on a regular blog schedule, I know, I know I have said that a gazillion times and have yet to be successful. However, it is much easier for me to blog than it is to make videos! I still want to continue youtube, but making videos will require planning further ahead. Therefore, I am going to try to stick with my blog and I hope you will continue or begin to read it more regularly!

Now, on to the monthly faves. This month I have sought out a less makeup/more natural style. I have kept things simple and found some new and some old favorites!

Last month I talked about my Clinique eyeshadow duo (that is no longer available, sad face) in my July monthly favorites. It has continued to be a favorite this month but I added All That Glitters to the combination (and NO I do not mean Elle Fowler, lol.) I was also in need of a new eyeshadow primer and quite a bit of buzz about the NARS primer so I figured I would give that one a go. Let me tell you... it is awesome!!! It works so much better than the Urban Decay primer that I have loved for years. I highly recommend checking this out, it is a must have.

As far as my skin goes, it has been so dry this summer! Everything, excluding my face, has been dry and itchy and I am just wondering how I am going to survive the winter months? I don't know what has happened but I have been using the Cuccio body butter and it really helps with the itchiness, plus it smells divine!

For my hair, I have been using the Honor Haircare hair mask (c/o) about once a week and my hair has been so soft! This stuff literally smells like you have gone on vacation to a tropical island! I LOVE it!  It makes my hair feels softer and more healthy. My favorite thing is that I am able to see results and my hair not be so oily that it is flat after I use it. My hair has just as much body, only it is becoming healthier! Honor Haircare uses safe and healthy ingredients to achieve beautiful and shiny hair. This is by far my favorite mask of all that I have tried! (more to come on this mask soon)

The read of this month should come as no surprise as it has taken over every bloggers instagram, twitter and/ or blog. #GIRLBOSS is such an empowering book. I am still reading it, but I would recommend this to ANY girl especially those who want to become successful! Sophia is inspiring, quirky and shows that you don't have to be cookie cutter to be successful, you just have to have to be willing to work hard.

This month my favorites have been simple but ones that will last! Thank you for stopping by to read a little about my favorites! Let me know what your favorites are in a comment!!

Fall Edit

Fall is quickly approaching and it's fashion and beauty are arriving even faster! I am not quite ready to kiss sumer goodbye, but a few fabulous fall pieces should help make the goodbye a little easier (if not just a little more glamorous.) I have put together a little Fall Edit containing some of my favorite accessories, fashion pieces and little beauty! I just love fall fashion! There is something a little more fabulous about the accessories and the crisp air. Tory Burch has put out some great pieces and J Crew always has beautiful vests! If you read my blog regularly you know I have been obsessing over Tom Ford's beauty line lately and I must say, their fall collection is nothing far of perfection!

I  can't wait to start picking out a few more pieces of fall clothing for my closet! What are you most excited for?

Weekend Reading & Links

As of lately I have overly obsessed with not only blogging but reading other blogs and searching for inspiration. I can also admit without guilt that I am a Pinterest-addict and it may be a serious problem... seriously. I love fridays on blogs! Mostly because everyone is posting their favorites finds from the week, their favorite "weekend looks" and everything else that makes saturday morning blog reading fabulous!

Since I love checking out everyone else's lists, I thought I would combine one of my own! Let's go...

1. I have been checking this {Chronicles of Frivolity}blog multiple times a day! I love her style and just want her to redesign my life. Also check out Katey's  style on her Pinterest here.

2. Every "preppy" college girl is currently drooling over the new Lilly Pulitzer agendas and I am most definitely in that crowd. I think these two are my favorite: Hot Spot and Peelin' Out

3. I have been eyeing these three pairs of shoes (that are on SALE) at toryburch.com. {1//2//3}I feel like I need the wedges and only one pair of sandals, but they are all so fab! What's a girl to

4. At first I wasn't a fan of #RichKidsOfBeverlyHills BUT... now I am completely over taken by it and I am SO excited for the new season that airs August 3rd! Am I the only one? Besides the fact, I have been loving Morgan Stewarts blog, Boobs and Loubs. Why didn't I think of that first? Oh yeah, I'm lacking boobs and my collection of Loubs is slowly growing... but hey I am blessed to have what I do! You could safely say I am obsessed with Morgan Stewart as of now. More to come...

5. If you have been reading my blog you know that I have been wanting to try Tom Ford makeup products for a while. I have decided to start with an eyeshadow quad. I'm not quite sure which one yet... I really like this one.

6. Finally I am so excited that my blog finally has a pin it button!! I know you're like MORGAN we know this now... you can stop talking about it. But, I'm probably going to keep talking about it for a good while. Sorry....

What has caught your eye this week? Leave me a link!!

Have a great and safe weekend!

Current Favorites

I am so far beyond in love with summer time. It is so beautiful and the warm weather is great! However, the past few days in Virginia have been hot blazing (too hot for me). I love seeing different products and things that people like and have as their "must have" products for the summer. With that in mind, I wanted to share a few of my current must have products for summer/spring/whatever the current season is!

Sun Bum SPF 30 Sunscreen // This has by far been my favorite sunscreen for the past two years! It smells delicious! It has a tropical banana rum drink scent and reminds me of the islands. It does smell like sunscreen but that personally doesn't bother me, I actually like it! I feel like this sunscreen lasts a long time and is great for being in the water, which I usually am! It is Paraben Free, Hypoallergenic, Anti Aging, Oil Free/ PABA Free, it Won't Clog Pores and is Photostable. Everything a girl can ask for ... right? It works great with my skin and I will be keeping this for quite a while!

Hempz Age Defying Body Moisturizer // This lotion is amazing. It smells so great, kind of sweet without the whole diabetic cupcake feel. It is rich on the skin without being overly thick and slimy. Being completely honest, I think that this lotion is the absolute best remedy for sunburn (not that you should get sunburnt, it's bad for your skin)!  I like the Age Defying one because of the scent and have not tested it for it's Anti Aging properties. I just love the way this lotion feels on my skin!

YSL Bronzing Powder // Any summer makeup look is not complete without a good bronzer! this one from YSL is perfect for contouring and still has a few shimmers in it to help with adding a good glow. I love it because it isn't muddy or orange, it doesn't break me out and I can use if for giving my skin a beautiful glow or for a slimming/contouring effect.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream #13 //  This is my first time trying a waterproof shadow and I can't see how any other product could be better? This stuff stays put and is perfect for going to the beach, pool, or just using it as a base for other shadows. It is a warm beige with light golden shimmer (it's almost a peachy color), that reminds me quite a bit of All That Glitters from MAC. I have truly worn this almost every single day since I bought it. This product is a must try!

Maybelline the Falsies Volum' Express' Waterproof Mascara //  I am all for spending money on a good mascara. However, when it comes to waterproof mascaras I think that going with a cheaper alternative is best. What do you think? This summer I have been loving the Falsies waterproof from Maybelline. It really helps give my lashes volume and doesn't run or smudge it the water! So far, this is the best one I have tried!

Chanel Glossimers #437 (bright pink) and #87 (shimmery peach) // I am a huge fan of the Chanel Glossimers! I have recently re-fallen in love with these two glosses.  They have the most perfect formulation that is long lasting, not sticky and doesn't taste bad. The bright pink color, #437, is perfect for giving the lips a pretty shade of bright pink without being too opaque. The second color is a perfect everyday color for the summer. It perfects the lips giving them golden sheen that looks gorgeous with a bronzed look!

Tom Ford Aviators // Sunglass are my obsession. I LOVE THEM. This pari from Tom Ford have been my current favorites. They look great with beach hair and are perfect for dressing up or dressing casual!

Good Read //  My last current favorite is a good book! I have been reading the 50 Lessons in this book Be The Miracle . It is truly a great and inspiring read! Plus I found it in the bargain section at Barnes & Noble!

What are your current favorite things and products for summer? Let me know!
