Fall Edit

Fall is quickly approaching and it's fashion and beauty are arriving even faster! I am not quite ready to kiss sumer goodbye, but a few fabulous fall pieces should help make the goodbye a little easier (if not just a little more glamorous.) I have put together a little Fall Edit containing some of my favorite accessories, fashion pieces and little beauty! I just love fall fashion! There is something a little more fabulous about the accessories and the crisp air. Tory Burch has put out some great pieces and J Crew always has beautiful vests! If you read my blog regularly you know I have been obsessing over Tom Ford's beauty line lately and I must say, their fall collection is nothing far of perfection!

I  can't wait to start picking out a few more pieces of fall clothing for my closet! What are you most excited for?

Back to School Supplies and Essentials

Happy Back to School season! I can't be the only one out there that is sad that summer is over? At least I sure hope not. Today was my second day of class and I had a little free time this afternoon to sit down and write a blog post so I thought it would only be right to talk "back to school." I am now starting my junior year of college (where did the time go???) and, while I always like to try new things, I have found a few staples that are always on my list, come back to school time.

Obviously pens and pencils are a must, unless you are that one kid that comes to the first day without one, but what type of pens and pencils people use varies. I really like sharpie pens but I have been giving the Pilot G-2 gel pens a shot and have been impressed! I also am addicted to the Target Up&Up Fashion Gel Pen collection. They are relatively inexpensive for the amount that you get and make studying a lot little more fun (studying and fun should really never be in the same sentence).  I also like to use Post-it notes. They just seem to make things a little easier as far as what I need to get done here and there or even just to quickly write down a thought on a paragraph in my readings. They come in handy quite often so I try to keep them with me!

I am guilty of having a Lilly Pulitzer agenda. They are not only cute but have more than the necessities for keeping me organized, which I must say is nearly impossible. The Lilly agenda's are well thought out and share important dates and leave plenty of room for notes and anything else you must keep in your planner (plus, they have STICKERS)! This year I chose the print "Hot Spot".While on the topic of "fashion name brands" I should discuss my little Tory Burch robinson zip coin case. I use this to keep my license, school id, debit card and car keys. It works great as it intended purpose, a coin case, as well. I have the black one and love it!

As far as backpacks, I like to call them book bags, I have always used North Face ones. They have just the right amount of pockets and compartments, as well as good support for my back. I have tried to use tote bags, many times, but it never fails... they kill my shoulder and back! I just ordered my new North Face book bag the other day and cant wait till it get's here! In my book bag I like to keep some chapstick. Burt's Bees works well and is nice and minty which I like! I am an Apple fanatic so my macbook pro will be with me at school at all times.  Recently, I have become obsessed with my new Camelbak water bottle. It is so nice AND it's insulated, lol. Mine is pink of course and I just realized today that probably 75% of students on campus own a Camelbak (color varies).

While I dread going back to school, I have even cried, I know that in the end it will all be worth it. Or at least it better. Hopefully, over the next few years my writing skills will be enhanced and I will have the ability to hide my partial stupidity (or not). I hope that you all enjoyed this post and have a wonderful semester!

What are your back to school essentials?

J.Crew Herringbone Vest {#YesIDid}

Maybe I am wrong, but I think probably just about every girl with a Pinterest has either pinned or seen this vest! It is literally sweeping the web and social media. I have wanted it for quite a while but didn't think I would ever get my hands on it because it sells out so quick. Thankfully, my J.Crew outlet store had it this year and I was able to score it on sale!

I am beyond excited to have the herringbone vest and have been thinking about purchasing another one. I really love the other more classic shades but I really feel like I need the camouflage one! What are your thoughts on the camo vest {it's on sale for $78}? I can not distinguish if it is more fashionista or more redneck hunter-ish?

This vest makes me a little tiny bit excited for fall. But let's face it, I do NOT want school to start or the weather to turn cold. Can summer please just stay forever? Even though I love the holiday's I dread January, February, March and April. They are just boring, cold, rainy and lifeless.  So for those reasons I am doing my best to not wish away summer and beautiful weather.

I can't wait to style my new vest! I am interested to see how other people are styling it! As soon as I wear it and put it together a few ways I will be sure to share! I hope everyone is having a great "Back To School" and is well!

Thank you for stopping by!

Design Darling

#OMG

My Design Darling order arrived yesterday! Last week/ weekend the boutique had a sale and I finally took the plunge and ordered the items that I had been eying for...well... a few months (to say the least.) I have been on edge and so excited for them to arrive and today... they showed up on my front step!

YAY!

I ordered a Shanghai Lotus Candle, Ginger Jar Matches and a Monogrammed Acrylic Pencil Cup. I am so pleased with the quality of everything! I am already planning another order :) I have recently fell victim into a blue and white obsession. I am so addicted and feel like I am a little late on the bandwagon. With that being said two, out of the three items purchased were blue and white!

The blue and white candle is perfection! I'm too crazy about the scent, which surprisingly isn't why I bought the candle in the first place. ok, I understand if you think I'm crazy... most of the time I think I am too! lol. Anyways, the little candle is a perfect decoration and can be reused in many ways! I felt that it was only right to purchase the blue and white ginger jar matches to go along with my new candle. But, how could I buy them without getting my mama a set too? I mean she IS the one who turned me on to blue and white... she is literally the Queen B of blue and white everything!! So I bought her some too. I was so happy to see that you can three boxes of matches in each order! I thought you only received one box of matches so I was ecstatic!

The last item I purchases was the gold monogramed acrylic pencil holder. I have wanted one of these for quite a while and finally broke down and got one. Now, I just need to get the rest of the collection and work on making my desk area ask chic as possible. It is currently not as stylish and inspirational as I wished it was. I would like to add a few inspirational prints and fun colors and such to inspire me to work hard!

Overall I am so impressed with my order from DesignDarling.com and cannot wait to order some more. I think it is the perfect boutique to order gifts for friends or holiday presents!

Have you ordered from Design Darling? What are your thoughts?
Mine are definitely Five Stars!!
